Dr. Grimes is a Limerick native and a graduate of University College Galway. She trained in the South West Deanery UK and was awarded an FRCA in 1999. She studied for a masters in Clinical Science in Plymouth University and worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist in the Bristol Royal Infirmary for 10 years.  Dr. Grimes moved to University Hospital Limerick and spent 10 years as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care there and moved then to the Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barrington's in 2018 continuing her role as a Consultant Anaesthetist and taking up the role as Clinical Director.  Dr. Grimes has been the clinical member of the project team designing and building the Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Towlerton which is due to open in September 2025.
